The clinical feedback loop

Using real-world data to measure and improve

Visiba Triage is continually refined using real-world data from practising clinicians. Each time a professional user closes a case, they are asked to feedback on how the system performed.

The clinical feedback loop means that Red Robin (the medical device behind Visiba Triage) is constantly re-calibrated against healthcare professionals' experience and reality. Not only are we measuring accuracy against real world cases not vignettes, but we use that data to continually improve the performance of the model.

Measuring our accuracy on clinician agreement means you can use the solution confidently - knowing that you're likely to agree too.

Harnessing extensive clinical experience

Our system is not self learning, instead we use validated clinical knowledge and feedback from users to continually improve the probabilistic model.

Urgency

Clinicians are asked if the urgency suggested was appropriate and if not, what urgency they would recommend.

Differential diagnoses

Clinicians can say if they agree with the diagnosis suggestions and can suggest alternative diagnoses if they disagree.

FAQ about the clinical feedback loop

Who gives feedback?

Every time a clinician closes a case they are asked to provide feedback. We make the feedback form as fast and easy to use as possible to that as many clinicians as possible can find time to do this. It should only take a few seconds.

Is it mandatory?

It is not mandatory. Clinicians are able to close cases without giving feedback if they choose - though we would always prefer them to give feedback.

Do you take action on all feedback?

We have a process whereby we prioritise which feedback we action. If there is feedback that highlights an immediate risk to patient safety then this is of course prioritised. Otherwise, we look at trends and decide which are the most important to prioritise. If you want to learn more about how we do this there is a video on this page where our Clinical Product Owner digs into the detail.

How do you measure agreement?

Agreement is measured on whether or not the clinician feedback says that the clinician agreed with our diagnosis and/or urgency or not. All of this feedback is tracked and reviewed and reported on in a multitude of ways.
